About Sue
I first started practicing Pilates thanks to two of my closest friends. One friend found me a new job with the other, who at the time I did not know very well, but soon became my new employer and great friend. I started work in her Pilates Studio and I can honestly say I've never looked back - I owe them both huge thanks!
As a 'perk of the job' I was offered the opportunity to take part in classes when space was available. I soon became hooked and was more than a little happy to discover that not only did I no longer suffer niggly problems from an old shoulder injury but my back, posture and overall well being was benefiting as well.
So with very little persuasion I made the decision to train and join the fabulous 'World of Pilates'
I trained in London, under the expert guidance of Joanne Cobbe, Founder and Principal tutor of JPilates. I also received fantastic support and guidance from Michelle Ormrod Pilates, where I worked. I now hope to bring these benefits to others through all my classes which are designed to keep individual needs and goals in mind. Within my class plans I do incorporate small equipment such as bands, balls and magic circles to enhance the session.
I work hard at being the best I can and I continue to increase my knowledge of Pilates through webinars, courses and workshops as I have a wide variety of clients. Since qualifying with my Level 3 Matwork Diploma I have attended further courses at JPilates Ltd in London. May 2020 Pilates & The Brain, Fitness Pilates for Older Adults, May 2018 Pilates for Breast Cancer Recovery and February 2017 Barre Pilates.
As a JPilates Associate member I keep up to date with new research and development
I am passionate about Pilates and the benefits for all, no matter how old or how fit.
I take my job seriously but I also really believe Pilates must be enjoyable and something you look forward to!
However, I am only human and as Juliet Nicholas, a highly experience Pilates teacher in the New Forest and very good friend of mine says on her website (and I totally agree!)
"I have a life and am not a teetotal vegan… so you don't need to throw yourself across your trolley when you bump into me in Waitrose to hide your Prosecco…I can party pretty hard too!!
I look forward to seeing you in class and hope you grow to love Pilates as much as I do!
Sue
