A little ingredient I love!

Despite their tiny size, chai seeds are one of the most nutritious foods and they deliver a massive amount of nutrients with very few calories. They are loaded with;

  • high quality protein - an excellent protein source especially for non meat eaters

  • Omega-3 essential fats

  • Antioxidants

  • Fibre

Almost all of the carbohydrates in chia seeds are fibre, because of the high soluble fibre content chia seeds can absorb approx 10 times their weight in water making them very filling

You can add dry whole or ground chai seeds to smoothies and juices - they will swell slightly but retain their crunch

You can also soak them in a liquid of your choice, I like to use a nut milk. They make a healthy breakfast added to fruit or yougurt

Chia Seeds are not expensive and can be purchased in health food stores as well as the majority of supermarkets
